FAIRFIELD — Cell phone video captured a group of thieves breaking the windows and taking off with high-priced items from a jewelry store in Fairfield on Wednesday.

The suspects were wearing hoodies, and another was also wearing what appeared to be an orange safety vest.

It happened at Sam’s Jewelers in the Solano Town Center. The store owner said six men used hammers to break the glass, and more than 30 percent of his merchandise was stolen, including some of his highest-priced pieces.

MIAMI – Brazen burglars go to great lengths to make sure they don’t leave empty-handed. Two thieves got away with close to a million dollars worth of jewelry and were caught on camera while doing so.

In the store’s surveillance video, you see the two thieves in hoodies and with their faces covered inside a north Miami-Dade jewelry store early Monday morning.

Robber shot by employee inside Chicago Loop jewelry store

CHICAGO (CBS) – A man trying to rob a jewelry store in the Loop Saturday morning was shot by an employee inside, and it was all captured on surveillance cameras inside and outside the store.

The incident happened just before 11 am on Jeweler’s Row, in the 0-100 block of North Wabash Avenue.

Surveillance video shows the would-be robber, who wore a red sweatshirt, walking around for about a minute before he took off running toward the entrance.
